WreckingBalm Tattoo RemovalNative Indians inhabited New Jersey for 2800 years. It’s probably close to that long ago that tattoo application in New Jersey began. Consider this:

A body, frozen in ice since 3300 BC, was discovered near the Italian/Austrian border. It was covered with tattoos. It appears that the tattoo art (the earliest seem to have been made from soot) has been around for a long time.

When You No Longer Want Tattoos

It stands to reason that probably since then people have experienced second thoughts about the tattoos they received. The reasons vary. Maybe some just want to replace it with another, it’s become an embarrassment or they just don’t like it anymore.

Just as tattoo applications have improved over the years, so have tattoo removal techniques. New Jersey, in fact, has several qualified tattoo removal experts ready to erase what once was considered a good idea.
There are several methods you can select from to remove your body art. They include dermabrasion, excision, creams and laser tattoo removal. New Jersey has experts in each field practicing in the state.

Tattoo Removal through Dermabrasion

This technique involves scraping the skin with a fine grit sandpaper or tool that simulates the same thing. The idea is to scrape away layer after layer of inked skin until the remaining skin is ink free.

Prior to the procedure, the area to be scraped receives a local anesthesia. A moisturizer is rubbed into the skin after each layer is removed. This is intended to smooth the skin. In addition, an IV may be used for hydration and you may be injected with a lidocaine solution.
This procedure can take from 15 minutes to two hours.

Tattoo Removal by Excision

You can select to have a cosmetic surgeon excise your tattoo. The way this works is that an anesthetic is administered to the tattooed area. The tattoo is then cut out of the skin. Using a special suture, the edges of the skin are sewn back together (for large tattoos, a skin graft may be necessary).

This method has become popular for small tattoos. Other reasons excision may be used are that it’s an immediate solution and it’s inexpensive. It can cost as little as $150 for a small tattoo removal in an outpatient procedure.

Tattoo Removal Creams

Many people opt to use cream or balms to remove their tattoos. Some of the advantages are that no surgery, sewing skin together, laser bursts nor anesthetics are necessary for this do-it-yourself method.

Each day, you apply a series of topical creams to the inked skin. The creams absorbs into the epidermis and dermis. It breaks up the cells that contain the embedded ink. The body eventually absorbs the fragmented cells or they get wiped away.

The depth, density, and size of the tattoo will determine how many applications will be needed to do the job. The creams are powerful and should be used on about 1% of the body surface at once.

The cost per cream application averages ranges from about $3.50 to $7.00.

Laser Tattoo Removal

For the most popular tattoo removal in New Jersey, you may want to consider laser. It’s not only the most common but it’s a very effective way to remove tattoos. Lasers are zapped into the tattooed area. These rapid, energy laden, bursts of color lasers fragment the inked skin into small particles. These tiny bits are then absorbed into the skin.

Laser treatment can take several sessions. They are priced per session. For instance, a three inch square may take seven treatments at $75 per session.

As individual as your tattoo is, tattoo removal is also a very personal process. Carefully research and consider which method is best for you.
