Tattoo Removal NJ

If you’re seeking tattoo removal in NJ, there are host of factors to consider. The first have to do with the type of tattoo you have:

Size- The size measures in square inches. This can make a difference in the price as well as the method you select. For example, a small tattoo might be best to remove via an excision where six square inch body art might be better suited for laser removal.

  • Ink- In the past, soot was a common tattooing ink. Today, a wide range of dye and pigments are used in tattoos. They include titanium dioxide, carbon black, quinoline and iron oxide. Inks will vary in how easy they are to remove.
  • Depth- The ink gets injected into the dermis which is the inner layer of skin. The deeper it seeps in, the longer it takes to remove.
  • Location- Because of the tissue and bone structure, where the tattoo is located can make a difference. For example, forearm and ankle tattoos take the longest to remove.
  • Skin Type- Thin skin areas tend to scar easier.

Tattoo Removal Methods

After you have decided to have your tattoo removed and understand some of the factors that went into making your tattoo, it’s time to figure out which method will work best for you. There are four major methods of tattoo removal, NJ or otherwise:

  • Laser Tattoo Removal
  • Excision
  • Cream
  • Dermabrasion

Laser Tattoo Removal- NJ
Laser tattoo removal has become the most common and probably the most effective method for ridding yourself of your inked skin. Via a series of highly charged, laser bursts, the ink gets fragmented into tiny particles (Note: the technician has to be sure the bursts have enough energy to actually do that). The tiny particles are then absorbed harmlessly into the skin, the smallest getting absorbed first.

Different laser lights are used on different ink colors. That’s because different inks absorb different laser colors better than others.

It can take several treatments to complete this process. The sessions are usually scheduled six weeks apart.

Excision Tattoo Removal- NJ
Excision tattoo removal is just what it sounds like. After an application of a heavy dose of local anesthesia, the tattoo gets removed by cutting it out of the skin. The skin around it gets sewn up with special sutures.

This can be an effective method for removing small tattoos (sometimes on large ones, a skin graft is needed). The results are instant. It’s an outpatient procedure and is relatively inexpensive (as little as $150).

Cream Tattoo Removal- NJ

Do- it-yourself cream removal systems are very popular. These methods require that you apply a series of powerful topical creams right on the tattoo, each day. They work like a laser does. The cream seeps into the skin and breaks up the inked cells. The fragmented cells then get wiped away or harmlessly absorbed into the skin.

These creams are very powerful. So, the recommendation is usually that you only work on one square inch at a time. It can take many applications to remove a tattoo. The price ranges from $3.50 to $7.00 per application.

Dermabrasion- NJ

This method requires that the skin be scraped away until all of the inked pigment has disappeared. A topical anesthetic is applied. The skin gets removed with a tool or fine grit sandpaper. After each layer is removed the skin is moisturized and smoothed.

This process can take anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours or longer. It may even require multiple sessions.

Whatever method you select, perform your due diligence and select the best tattoo removal in NJ for you.
